Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus & Orchestra

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

The Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus & Orchestra (AMICCO) recently announced their upcoming season schedule.  AMICCO’s 2010-2011 Concert Series promises to be a varied and exciting new season.

November 14, 2010: Selections from Broadway show tunes by Rodgers and Hammerstein and Irving Berlin.

December 19, 2010: Holiday concert includes Mozart’s Symphony #29, Finale, and performances by the 2010 Young Artist Solo Competition Winner/Finalist. As a special treat, they will perform John Rutter’s “Brother Heinrich’s Christmas,” the perfect Christmas Eve bedtime story, and a joy for adults as well as children.

February 13, 2011: An Island Valentine, a special concert featuring solos by their talented Orchestra and Chorus.

March 20, 2011: SEASON FINALE — The season finale will be a much-anticipated operatic performance.  Top billing will go to Johann Strauss, Jr. and his operetta, “Die Fledermaus.”

AMICCO is sorry to report that Daniel Hoffman, Chorus Master, will not be returning this year. His superb voice and inimitable style will be missed. Guest conducting the  AMICCO Chorus for the November and December 2010 concerts will be Deidre Reigel. Learn more about Deidre’s talents.

Volunteers are essential to organizations like AMICCO. Volunteers make sure all is in place and the performance is a GO! Please call Alice Jeghelian, (941) 792-5901, to volunteer your time in any way you can.
