Operating the Door Lock

Having trouble with the door lock at your vacation rental? Check these common issues first:

Is it already unlocked?
It sounds silly but it happens! Try opening the door before continuing to other options.

Are you sure you’re entering the code correctly?
Double-check you didn’t transpose a number or press the wrong one by accident. The correct code is in the text message we sent you.

Alternatively, make sure you’re pressing the correct button after the code is entered. It may be a lock icon, check mark, or pound sign pressed after the code is entered. This is also included the text we sent you.

If your lock has two numbers on each button, press the button once for each digit you need. For example, for code 1278, press the 12 button once for “1” and again for “2”, then the 78 button once for “7” and again for “8,” then press the lock icon to unlock the door.

Is the door closed all the way?
Try pressing the door closed, then try to unlock again.

Sometimes, when you try to open the door before you try to unlock it, it’s not really closed all the way and the deadbolt is wedged against the door frame, unable to move.

Does it sound like it’s trying to unlock, but can’t?
Try pressing or pulling lightly on the door as it’s unlocking to relieve pressure on the deadbolt.

Door jams expand and contract with the weather and can put pressure on the deadbolt, wedging it in place and making it unable to move.
